new to the klr world.

I've been riding dirt bikes since the late 70s and street since the late 80s. I just bought an 08 KLR 650. I also have an 05 crf450x and an 08 Busa. I've always liked the road less traveled and am now finding myself wanting to find the places the pavement wont take you. for some reason I can't get a pic to load. As soon as I figure out why I keep getting an error message I'll post a pic.

Hello and welcome to the forum!!! The site requires you to have at least 15 posts before photos are allowed. This is to keep the spammers at bay.

Gray-haired riders donít get that way from pure luck.

Me too!

I too am a new comer to the world of the KLR. I was once a DR650 guy so we'll see how this all pans out. I picked up an 07 that had been rode hard and put away wet! But it was cheap. It was mostly cosmetic, the only issue is it seems to run on the warm side. I do live in "Fort Stinkin Desert Tucson" so I'll flush the radiator and see what happens. I've found a lot of good stuff here already!

well I had my first real test and I have to say it surprised me. I did 292 door to door of every kind of road and even some smaller trails you can imagine. It definitely requires a little more muscle when on a single track 4 wheeler trail than my 450. I don't think I would want a lot of that and definitely nothing smaller. for those in the St. Louis MO. area I did the Sunday part of the Pucky Huddle ride (with all the big boy tracks).
