Long time lurker, first time poster. NH.

My first bike was 1974 Honda CB360T. I got it when in high school. When i went to college in Colorado (I m from New Hampshire), my brother adopted it and rode it like it was mine, then sold it. After two years of no bike i sold my car, cashed some student loan checks, and bought a 92 Dr 650. This was in 1995. And living in southwestern Colorado with that bike opened up my eyes to a whole new world. Exploring Mountain passes, jeep trails, old mining roads, or just the highway, was quite an amazing privilege. But I had to sell that bike after a while. A year later I bought a 1987 KLR 650. That was pretty sweet to get back out there. But, being a super broke college kid, there were no farkles, no mods, no proper riding gear to speak of, and when my rear shock blew out, it sat for almost a year. So with the help of my snowboard and KLR, i was able to cram 4 years of college into 6. and i took everything back to NH for a visit because i hadnt been back for so long. But on the way back my van broke down and by the time i made it back to NH i was somewhat marooned. The area is quite different here. on the seacoast where i am there are interstates and tons of people. tons of private land, and not nearly the terrain i was used to out west. so i met a girl, bought a house, sold my bike. So 13 years later i just bought a 2005 KLR. I still have no money, but work a lot and have a supportive wife, so ive got some ok gear, nothing crazy. Have been riding as much as i can. But its getting cold here in NH, and my visor is foggy. So there it is in a nutshell.

And that, sir, is all that matters! Welcome to the forum.

I agree with planalp - you've got everything you need right now: Supportive wife, a KLR, some riding gear, and you ride as often as possible...

And yeah, I also agree with you about how it's getting cold. Unfortunately, it's moving on to the time of year that the bike gets pushed deep into the garage and the snow blower moves from the shed to the area of the garage where the KLR is currently parked.

DAMMIT!!!

Hey MRobo, welcome to the forum. We've had several Granite Staters join in the last month or so. You're the second one in one week.
You'll get lots of good information from this crew.
