I'm Baaaaaack! I just couldn't stay away!

I just purchased, but haven't picked up yet, a brand spankin' new blue '08 KLR650.

This time I'm NOT dumping TONS of crap and money into it. I've got full coverage insurance and I'm leaving it alone. I might put an Acc. plug under the seat for my compressor, but that's it.

Those of you who know me are saying "yeah sure, Timbo, you'll Farkle it in time", but I won't. I learned my lesson with the '05 and won't make that mistake again.

It's good to be back.

What did I miss about Timbo and his farkling habit? Everything plus the kitchen sink gets mounted to his?

I haven't done much to mine at all. Rad guard. Added clearview 9 for winter and highway bars to stretch out my long legs. Tankbag for carrying stuff.

Other then that, bike is stock and does what I need.

I'm debating a 1520 Pelican for the rack which should solve my final storage issues.

All he needed on the '05 was 2 doors and a windshield....

And this is just from the back. You can't see what I did up front in this pic.
Two tool tubes, headlight wiring kit, progressive springs, ss brake line, etc. etc...

btw... I just picked up a new Arai HD last night.

What kind of side boxes are those? I like that size. Hey Timbo?, have you seen the newer factory tailbag and side bags for the 08's? They are nice. Tried to order the tailbag, only to find out that they won't be out till late August, well at least for my area. They have a nice design and are made out of the rubberized vinyl. OK so I am easy to please...LMAO

I haven't seen anything for the '08 except for HT's radiator guards.

As for the bags on my old '05, they're GIVI E-21's (top loading). I liked that they were on the softer side so they wouldn't bend something more important in a tip over.

Do you have a link to the bag you mentioned?

New 08' KLR Tailbag and Side Bags

http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame...atalogTypeID=4

Once there, find the KLR in the list of bikes and then double click. Choose luggage from the options.
You should see the new 08 stuff at that point.

I think I'm going to stick with aftermarket soft luggage this time.
