Greetings from Combine, Texas

Recently added a KLR to my stable. It fits perfectly between the V-Strom and Concours. This is my second KLR. I sold my first one a few years back after suffering a lapse of reason, but scared up a good, low mileage 06. I was aware of the doohickey, so I upgraded that the first weekend.

Im not old, but I got my first motorcycle when Nixon was president.

I have been gleaning information off this site for a few days, so I figured it was time ti show myself.

I hope to do some DS riding in East Texas, the hill country, and Colorado. Ive spent a lot of time riding Colorado, but pavement only, Planning to take the KLR to Colorado this summer and head for the wilderness and camp

Anyway, hoping to pick up some good intel and meet like-minded riders.

Welcome Tony123456789!!
We're a friendly bunch here and like to goof around a bit. Colorado sounds like a nice area for a KLR. Be sure to join in the discussions and ask questions so you can get your post count over the magical "15". Then you will be able to post some pics of your riding areas for all us to see!

P.S. Good thing you left room between your VStrom and your Concours for a KLR!!

It's not a Tractor....It's a LOCOMOTIVE!! Chugga Chugga
Woooo WOOOOO!!!!!

Welcome to the forum Tony!

Any reason you didn't choose a newer Gen2 KLR on your second go-round of ownership?

I considered a Gen2 bike and test rode a couple. Obviously still dual sport bikes, but with the bigger fairing and more plastic, they seemed to be styled a bit more for pavement than a Gen1.
Also, my previous KLR was an 06, and I just like the look of it.
