Hello KLR Forum

Hello from Western Pennsylvania.

I bought a used KLR last Saturday and rode it 550 miles home. I like the bike so far.

I have a Yamaha R6, but I wanted something more... versatile. The KLR is perfect for just about anything I want to do with it.

I look forward to learning and maybe making some new friends on this site.

Thanks!

You went the opposite direction that my son did - he purchased a '12 KLR, and then after about six months purchased a Yamaha R6.

He still has the KLR, and he plans on keeping both bikes. To the best of my knowledge, he's planning on leaving his R6 in my garage or shed when he goes off to WyoTech in Laramie this fall. He's planning on taking his KLR, and his 4Runner to school while his wife is out to sea on the carrier that she's assigned to (he's in the Marines - getting out in September, she's in the Navy with about two years left on her service contract).

Welcome to the forum. I have learned quite a bit here from the true experts who have taken their time to educate us on how to get the most out of our KLRs...

Ride Safe....

Welcome. I will now have an America song stuck in my head for days. I dig America, though.

Oh, I know.

I'm a big America fan actually. I even like Muskrat Love.

Lol I didn't even think about that song. It's in my head now too, thanks a lot. I was thinking more of the western.

I'd like to post a picture of the bike but it is a red 2009 bone stock KLR. You guys can use your imaginations.

2009, huh? That was a good vintage.
