hey klr riders,
I'm new to your forum, but not new to motorcycles.
I've been riding since the mid 1960's, my motorcycling background starts with me in my dad's lap on his harley, I was in diapers. in 1957.
I got my first bike, a honda CL70 at age 15. Then onto a Hodaka ace 90 to start mx'ing, then a Hodaka super rat 100, then a new 1973 honda elsinore 250cc
mx bike, and on and on.
I have competed in Motocross, hare scrambles, observed trials, enduro, flattrack, roadracing, with a few miles on the roads and streets thrown in along the way. To me, Riding on the road is the most dangerous (due to traffic) and scares me the most, therefore I prefer to ride back roads.
My business is GMD Computrack. We do motorcycle chassis analysis, alignment correction and fine suspension upgrades and repairs.
We have just completed our first address change since we opened for business in Clarkston, Ga. 14 years ago.
We moved the shop from metro Atlanta to Jasper, Ga. and our new home is about 25 miles away through some very nice roads.
With the price of fuel going thru the roof I have decided I need another bike.
One that is rugged, gravel road worthy and gets pretty good mileage.
I want to get a KLR650, apply our suspension knowledge to and test some new shocks on. I would not be looking to buy a brand new unit, I could be quite happy to take on a fixxer upper if anyone knows of such I would appreciate the referral.
