Intro and requested information

Hello to all Kawi KLR 650 rider and this my first tape time on the form. I've been interested in MC riding for some 26 years but never on a KLR. Once I first rode a KLR, I love with it and now I am a most added fan of the bike. My second bike is a victory cross country which is also my dream. Two different bikes two different ways of riding.
The question I would like to ask to KLR riders, is with regards to the Doohickey tension device on the KLR. My KLR is a 2009. I've had no engine problems with it before it has some 23,000 km on it. I heard that you do not have to do anything with the Doohickey tension device and no up grade kit is required for the 2009 KLR. I was understood that Kawasaki had fix the Doohickey tension device regards to the spring and the upgrade after 2008. Has anyone heard differently. I'm heading up to Inuvik Northwest Territories at the end of the month and was thinking that maybe I should ask this question. Thank you for your time looking forward to your response.

Regards Horseman

In regard to your question about the Doohickey. Can I ask you to please do a search of the forum. The Doohickey has been beat to death and there is a ton of info and opinions on it.
