Red face Chicago newbie!

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to motorcycles, and pretty new to the midwest. Me and my '89 KLR 650 live in Chicago near Hyde Park. My bike currently needs some work before I can get it back on the road, and I need some experience working on bikes. So if anyone is in the Chicago area and wants to link up, get in touch!

I previously lived in DC with a 1985 Honda Rebel 250 (my first bike).

Hopefully I'll have my KLR running again soon, and you'll catch me cruising by the lake or looking for riding buddies to show me their favorite places to ride.

If you're shy, you don't even need to post your town, but at least what part of the country you're from.. That way people in your area can get to know you, or even better, meet you!!!
Ya' want to know what is kinda' funny about post #1 of this thread?

The OP, "Paper" didn't even supply his OWN Location! Or maybe he has since 'deleted it',

Go to "User CP" / "Edit",

Paper is still with us, he last visited Jan. 2019.

The member location information makes it easier when members need to discuss cooling system idiosyncrasy's or issues and carburetor jetting.

Hello,

How can I change my screen name. It wouldn't let me create an account with just my email so I hit join via facebook. I would like my screen name to be: Toad Moto.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks and I'm excited to be part of this community.

Try going to "Tools" in the top tool bar, then "User CP".

Welcome to the forum, Toad Moto.

Wink

Hi All,

1st post on this site but I've been on the other KLR forum(s) for a dozen years or so.
I have a 2003 KLR I bought in 2006 that recently hit 62,000 miles on a two week vacation from my home in Minneapolis to the Bighorn Mtns of WY and Bighorn Canyon in MT.

I also have a 2013 DL650 Adv but the KLR suits me better for most of my riding.
I'm hoping the next version of the KLR will be sub 400 lbs and have more than 40 HP but have the same ergos as the Gen 1 bikes and cost less than $7K that's good enough dammit! ;-)
