Smile nOOB KLR Owner

Finally came to my senses and sold my Ducati (sick of dealer issues, parts issues, etc...) and picked up a new '08 KLR last night. Green of course. I can't wait to get the first 600 miles on it, get it serviced and head to the desert, the Sierras, the coast. Just need to get a tall windscreen, mount the Zumo, and have fun. Looking forward to learning from this community.

welcome to the forum.......Ride her like ya stole her, good break in procedure to keep from burning excessive oil later on, is my opinion only ...and I think you will find you will get more done by doing your own maintenance...have done all of mine from first day I rode away from dealership with mine. Looking forward to pics

2008 DL650 VStrom Yellow and Black
Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Thanks for the maintenance advice. I am capable, and do enjoy doing it myself. I'll take some photos this weekend and post.

Thanks Mark. The tech day is actually what directed me to your site. I ride with Benjava (the instigator of my KLR purchase) and he told me to check out KLR Forum.

Welcome from Canada

Must be nice to take off on your new bike..... this time of year !!!!

We are sitting it out for a couple more months.... it's warm here, just around freezing, but will be heading for -40 before the end of the month.

Enjoy your KLR.... it's the best all around bike that I have ever owned, I am sure you will feel the same way after a few miles on it.

Play safe, enjoy !!!

Thanks, Backroader! Hang in there for the warm weather. You live in a beautiful place. I might possibly be heading your direction in June.

Stay warm,
