Wow it sounds as though you are a real world traveller! Good on ya. I was able to do a 4 year stint in Oz but that's about it. It was a Welshman that taught me how to lane split down there, but the KLR turned out to be a bit wide in the bars.
That said I love the bike, it still allows me to tinker a bit ( KLR's still have a carbie and no computers) and really, it gets me everywhere I want to go here in Northern B.C.
As far as the folks on this forum go, they run the gamut, from people like me, who just like to tinker, to full on "tear it down to it's last fastner" types. If you have a question about KLR's...someone on here has the answer.
Hope you end up one of the many KLR-istas, I know I enjoy the change of pace.
