Bainbridge Island, Washington KLR

Greetings,
I started posting here in desperation for a solution to a stripped oil drain plug.
Anybody else ever do that? Please dont tell me I am the first and only goomba that did that!

I am 57, my kids have all grown up and gone away and I bought a bike! Had this KLR for about two years, use mostly for commute to work. Living on an island I use the ferry system daily. Their policy is "First on, First off" for motorcycles. Makes life very easy! The Royal treatment!

I took my KLR on a road trip up to BC Canada last summer. Rode across Vancouver Island on loggin roads from the extreme West Coast, Jordan River to the East coast of the island, Comox. Great ride! Bike did splendidly. what a great bit of engineering this KLR is. From 3-4 hours at highway speed, 60 and 70, to 5-8 hours of gravel and nasty busted up unused logging roads, and never skipped a beat!

I love it!

Been looking at the Verses Though.

Cheers to all and Ride Safe!

Welcome, PTZ! If you took pics on your trip, feel free to post a RIDE REPORT! I'd like to see BC! Glad you're enjoying your KLR!

Hugs,

Create an account at photobucket.com then upload your pictures to there. Once uploaded, have the forum open and your album on photobucket opened. You then find the pic you want to post and click on the IMG option under the picture, this copies it, then here in your post you just right click and paste. Do a preview of your post and make sure the pic posted correctly. I also found out you can adjust the size of your pictures uploaded to photobucket, I use the 1024x768 option on photobucket, this makes a really nice big picture to see. Make sure to have the size option set before you upload. Hope this helps...

Pictures of my BC Trip last summer!

End of the paved road at Jordan River BC. Now the fun begins

They drive logging trucks over this, really!

It just gets better and better! Black bear crossed my path shortly after this picture was taken.

The ferry to Saltspring Island, the easy bit!

This road took me across Saltspring Islands north end, from there the ferry to Sidney BC and from there home.
A great trip. Want to do it again. Anyone care to come along?

Yo, I'm interested in doing some touring in that area, or northern Washington, and/or eastern Oregon. I 60 and my kids are raised also.
I live outside Billings, Mt, but have a son and family in Rathdrum, Id.
I got my '07 KLR 1 1/2 years ago and use it for commuting and rode
it to Kalsipell, Mt last summer. My plans may hinge on what vacation
time I have left. Maybe we could meet somewhere. Nice pictures!!!
Work is the curse of the leisure class!!!
