Hello from Joisey

I'm 59, well, in a few days I will be. If I die before then, I'll remain 58. I've ridden and wrenched on motorcycles since I was 9. Rode on the street since I was 17. Started on a 650 Triumph, went to a Norton 750 Commando, then a 73 FX, an 81 FXR bought new and a 91 FXRS bought new. The 81 is now propelled by a 108 inch engine. Like I said, I like to turn wrenches.

I'm tired of taking out deer at night with the bikes and idiots on the road at all hours. Now I'm looking for a dependable water cooled 4 stroke dual sport bike. I'm reading and learning. Been thru 3 brands of motorcycles so far. We'll see how this one goes.

I've had and have many bikes....Just got rid of a 2000 BMW k1200 that I basically road back and forth to the Gym and on occasion put my wife on the back for a jaunt to the ice cream stand.--don't miss it at all. Replaced it with my 2007 KLR 650 and just love it. On the road it is much more "flickable" and even goes through the "twistees" better than the k1200--imagine that. Goes great on dirt roads and even does very well in the single track, but you have to remember that your on a 400lb bike. If you make the leap you won't be sorry.
