New 03 KLR

Here's my new (to me) 03 KLR 650

This is my first bike. I'm taking the BRC this weekend, and hopefully getting my license next week. Unfortunately I live on an Air Force Base, so I have to jump through a bunch of hoops before I can ride it at all (no parking lot practice). I'm looking forward to learning a lot about this bike, and working on it my self. Its got lowering links on it right now, but I don't think i need them, so that will probably be my first (de)mod, maybe next weekend, putting the factory links back on, switching to the stock height center stand, and dropping the forks back down.

Nice looking bike Matt, Welcome. Looks like the previous owner never let it sit out in the sun. Plastic isn't faded. Also looks like it came with some nice farkles. How many miles on her?

Almost 21000, as far as the plastic, it doesn't look as good in person. There are some scratches here and there, some fading, and some marks from the muffler. Who really cares tho, its not supposed to be the best looking bike in the world, but I may get the Plasti-dip out and spray the front fender and fairing black if i get bored next week.

Any one used spray on plasti-dip to spray body parts?

Looks good. Much better than that first one you were considering. Which Pelican box do you have on the back??

I went with my brother this past weekend to pick up this 03 beauty. Only had 2500 miles. Came with all the factory luggage, tall window and center stand.
When we got to the guys place and I saw the bike I told my brother it was going on the trailer, we just had to determine whose name was on the bill of sale.

Wh4tig0t, it's pretty neat seeing a KLR change hands and show up on the forum again. Did you get cmtokaz to drop his price any further?... hehehe.

With a list of farkles like he had I imagine that sucker should be ready for just about anything you can throw it's way.

Welcome to the club!

Welcome to to you also klr4evr and that's a nice find you have there!

Nah he was pretty helpful with me, working around my crap schedule to get the bike, making sure i knew how to work everything, and everything was working right before I left. I put about 600 miles on a brand new rental truck in less than 11 hours so I could make it back for class this morning. Thankfully enterprise doesn't charge Mileage if you don't leave the state (Texas is big)

Nice job on a good looking bike. What kind of tires is she wearing?
