Hey from Northern NB

Good Afternoon to all,

Just purchased an 06 KLR after spending many years rebuilding a riding early 70's Honda SOHC's....have wanted to get into more offroading with my youngest son and the opportunity presented itself last week. Picked the bike up on monday and have been having a ball with it since!! Very different than any other off road experience I have had. My biggest off road to date was a YZ250 way back when I was in high school. This seems to be worlds apart. Very comfortable but takes a little work in some of the tighter trails.

As stated, this is my first venture into the Kawasaki brand so I will likely need all sorts of advice and ask lots of ridiculous questions, but I want to learn as much as I can and have a few laughs while I am at it.

Looking forward to many years of adventure on this bike!!!

Thanks for the intro points. At this point the only ones I am tracking are the doohickey and the bowl modification. There was quite a bit of work doen to the bike to prep it for long distance trips so at the moment I am trying to compare stock stuff to figure out everything that has been done to date. Luckily I am in touch with the shop that did all the annual maintenance for the previous owner up to this point.

Again, thanks for the welcome...and I am sure many more questions will arise.

If you can pump the previous owner to list as many of the mods which were done and note those + the makes of any parts, that can save some hassle later. Ordering some guards, for example, can be much smoother if you know the engine guard as not every combination will work.

If you are headed west and have some extra time, stop in for a visit. I'm in Chilliwack.
