Nice to be on board. I got my KLR this spring. (April 2015) It was pretty stock when I bought it so I had a lot of work to do to bring it up to full farkle standing. Fortunately I've got a connection to a shop where I can work on the bike.

It had about 25 thousand KM on it when I got it (about 16 thousand miles). Did the Doohickey, and put some new tires on and took it for a shakedown to Columbus GA where my daughter lives - about 1000 miles from Ontario Canada where I live. Burned some oil (about 1.5 quarts/1000 miles) so I decided to do a 685 big bore from EagleMike. I'm enjoying the benefits now - more power, less noise, no oil consumption (although it hasn't gone on a long run yet). Also did the 22 cent mod and the thermobob 2 at the same time. Temp is more stable and a bit hotter now.
Also put some racks and crash bars on her. Getting ready for a cross Canada run next summer (TCAT TransCanadaAdventureTrail) Let me know if you're interested.

I've done some long rides on smaller bikes (TransAmericaTrail) and Continental Divide Trail) along with some single track stuff. Looking forward to hanging out on the forum and seeing what I can learn and possibly contribute.

NedQuick -

There is a test post thread where you can quickly jam up a dozen more posts so you can put pictures up; we had to do the 15 post thing due to spammers and porners putting stuff up.

Alternatively, post up the link to your picture, but bodge the URL by putting a space between 'www' and the rest and I'll fix it up for ya.

I still held his automatic more or less pointed at him, but he swung on me just the same. It caught me flush on the chin. It was meant to be a hard one, but a pansy has no iron in his bones, whatever he looks like. -Philip Marlowe
