Red face need some help from the experts please

Hi everyone, I'm glad I found you!
I need your help but here's a bit about "me"~
My husband is actually the KLR rider, 2001 650, but I'm the PC half of this team. He loves the bike, but w/ the economy & some time out of work, 3 year old triplets, etc, etc, we had to list it on craigslist. Hasn't been out much anyway since the trio & we made a deal in the BETTER future, he gets a new bike.
OK, my problem: Posted on CL, 2001 Kaw. 650KLR 3200 miles, garage kept, silver/blk/green (almost camo) $3400. 'heartbreaking sacrifice' (pic included)
Yeah, it's not a bargain, but it's barely broken in & MAYBE 20 weren't road miles.
OK maybe neither of us actually want to see it go, but I see things on cl all the time that are listed a little high, so I don't buy them!
I got an email from a guy (oh, I post as my husband since it's his bike) So this guy says "whats wrong with you, book val is 1700 tops, can't believe what I'm reading"
I looked it up & happen to have some friends over who said it's all about the miles. KBB showed expected miles for that bike are 28K! 10 times more! So I reply & tell him that, include the link, & tell him if he can't believe, read something else.
Then he replies that I'm wrong, there was a dealer selling '07's no miles for $3600.
I want to answer back. I found an '07 for sale for $4500 but it was December & I want to shut this guy up for good (IF he's wrong). So I guess I'm asking if he's right & I should pull the ad, or if I should tell him what I REALLY want to tell him & get all you riders blushing.
Tried to attach a pic, but it's failing and I gotta get the trio a snack.
Please let me know what you think... NICELY PLEASE! I really want to tell this guy to go screw. Oh, does region matter? we're NJ, don't know where he is, but the ad says where we are.
TIA
Crystal

I'd say the only thing that matters is how much you want to get out of it. If he doesn't want to pay what you want to get out of it then he should resume his search elsewhere. So I say tell him what you really want to tell him, and I'll cover my ears.

Everything I own is always for sale if someone wants to pay me enough for it, and if not then I'll keep it. Simple as that.

Good luck, and if I was closer I would be interested in it for that price and that few miles.

Depending on where you are, I'd say you are reasonable based on condition and miles. Maybe a little on the high side, but not much.

Tell him what you really want to tell him. With those miles for my area, that is a good price. There will be someone eventually want it for that price. Just have to be patient and wait it out.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Wink

Tell him what you really think you do not have to take crap like that it is yours if he dont like it hit the road. With those miles if you can get the pic's to work that will help your sale have you ever done any thing with e bay that works for me.

I'd like to see where he can get an 07' for $3600 because he is the one full of it. If any dealer is advertising a deal like that, soon as someone walks in to get one, they will say "Sorry, just sold the last one". Bait and switch is all that is.

Either delete his emails, or reply that it's YOUR bike and you can ask $2,148,952.04 if you want to. If he doesn't like your price, he doesn't need to buy it, and if he's not buying it, why does he feel he needs to respond to the ad?

In other words, just delete his emails without replying.

Thanx everyone! I answered him last night, kept it clean but snappy. Ended w/ 'condolences to your wife/girlfriend' (just to instigate!?) If he has the marbles to come back again, I'm gonna ask Craigs list if I can let it fly! He's not getting the bike, hell even if he wanted to pay double, I'd rather starve.
Well after cruisin the forum, I hope we can figure out a way to keep it! & maybe you'll hear from us again!

I would say you are priced well, low miles is key, not so much the year and you have at least $2000 to $2500 spread from a new model.

If the appearance of the bike is good, then hold out for what you want...it's your bike.

Did you try ebay to sell it? that maybe a good alternative,

Good luck.
