Hello!

Hey yall im Aubrey. Just bought a 16 KLR, ill be bringing it home from the dealer monday. I liked the idea of dirt roads and pavement. This is the first forum ive ever joined, may have to lay some rules on me. Another thing, i have no riding experience and ill have to drive about 15 minutes of interstate to get the KLR home. Im kind of nervous. Please say hello all im really excited to be here and build some riding skills!!

No riding experience and interstate should not be used in the same sentence.

Welcome to the site, and welcome to adventure motorcycling.

Please make sure you get home safely, even if a friend has to ride it.

Practice rolling around some parking lots or fields running up and down
thru the gears while straight, leaning, braking, etc and get a good feel for
how it acts.

If you can drive a stickshift, and ride a bicycle, you are a big part of the way there.

Ditto on the Camo paint. I do like that look. But I bleed Kawi green, so it had to be verde for moi. Congrats on the new ride, what a great time ahead for you! And yes, please be careful on that ride home...we want you around for awhile.

Put it in a pickup truck.

Find a big grassy field and ride it around.

Then move to a side road.

Then some easy gravel

Then in town and maybe someday,,,,,, Interstate.

After at least 200 miles!!!!

You ARE NOT ready!!!
