Hey guys, just bought my first real bike, an 08 klr 650 with only 3k miles and talked him down to $3200. I just turned 30, and have been dreaming of riding my whole life. I'm a skilled mountain biker, but other than that I only had a scooter back in college.
I rode it 250 miles home, it was amazing, then I rode in the grass around my yard until the back wheel slipped sideways and the bike fell on my foot. I had all gear except I was wearing my army boots. I got some mini fractures and have been stuck crutching for a month now. So I got some Alpinestars tech 10 boots on closeout for $380, and have been modding the KLR in the mean time.
I had a short I had to find and fix, rerouted all the wires and the wire harness to prevent wear. Added a happy trails skid plate, new mirrors, and trackside handguards. I can't figure out how to stop the handguards from hitting the fairing barely when fully turned. Any help?
My foot is almost healed and I can't wait to start riding again! I've been reading these forums, and books on how to ride while I'm healing. I'm in Beebe, about 30 miles NE of little rock if you ever want to ride hmu.
