New to the dual sport

Hello All
Brand new to dual sport and I love it. Ridden many years, Yamaha V star 1100 was my first street bike, followed up by a 05 Victory Hammer. Rode mostly east coast. Dragon Blue ridge Etc. Moved out west
then trekked to Daytona and Vegas bike week and all over these mountain roads. Some dirt riding in between out in the desert areas.
My next venture in life will be to moving to Costa Rica. So the Wife bought me a 2016 digi camo KLR 650. Totally Love this bike. I'm looking forward to the adventure riding in Costa Rica.
My last trip down I actually bumped into 2 KLR riders. Both from Eastern Europe. They had ridden down from Idaho. Idaho to Costa Rica! (for those that studied geography in high school...this is not a island.) What a ride! Only One rear tire change out. They were totally stoked on the experience and were headed south to Panama. Like any other bike brand..if you mention you have one..boom instant conversation.
Our plan is to be moved down there by March of 2020, possibly having a rental for adventure riders to take a day or two off and relax. Of course the facility will have repair items.
So far I'm looking at adding a 4 wheel drive ATV for the Wife. She ride the street very well but doesn't have the desire for the dirt unless its on 4 wheels. Matter fact she road the Dragon in the rain. Then at the Deals gap she inquired "so when are we riding the dragon?" As many of the guys in our group were ready to hurl.
KLR Performance upgrades..meh, The KLR is almost perfect. I most definitely will add luggage and possibly a surfboard carry rack.

EndlessSummerPete, Good luck with your Enterprise.

I'll only recommend that you Replace the KLR650 oem engine balancer chain Adjusting Lock Lever & Spring before you ship it south. (aka The Doo-Hickey) If you haven't already done so.

Complete lever kit with torsion spring
