Hello all,

I am the proud owner of a KLR purchased this spring. It is a well used 1989 that appears to have been modified to look like a Tengai. I am currently in the process of bringing the bike back to being a well tuned, good looking machine which is in part the reason for the purchase (a project bike if you will). Up to this point no one would have described me a mechanically inclined but things seem to be looking up as I have completed some minor improvements and maintenance. I am also new to riding off of the asphalt and have enjoyed it injury free so far. I expect to be doing more asking and learning than contributing here at least for the next while, I am also interested in getting into some longer more remote "camp as you go" type riding. I currently live in Muskoka and work in Barrie so I plan to use the Simcoe County forest as my primary training ground and have joined their chapter of the Trail Riding Assoc. Thanks to those who put this forum together it has already been an excellent resource.

Cheers.

One thing I am struggling with right now is a leaky carb drain, I have replace the screw although I am not sure on the placement of the accompanying o-ring since the previous screw did not have one so if anyone has some experience with that I would appreciate any advice before I try dismantling the carb.
