Evening, I am old bike guy but new here, just bought a new 2017 KLR with 1 mile on it. Starting to put some accessories on it and get used to the ride. Northeastern Wisconsin. Thanks for having me.

1st; welcome.

2nd; http://www.klrforum.com/1987-2007-wr...kes-avoid.html

3rd; There is no end to the goodies, farkles and mods you can make to your KLR to make it work better for you.......none of which are necessary except arguably the doohickey lever and spring upgrade from Eaglemike https://eaglemike.com/Basic-lever-ki...ey-kit-blk.htm (get the optional torsion spring too) . That said, it probably isn't something that you need to consider urgent. BUT there is one other mod that is beneficial to longevity and the earlier in the bikes life (before it's been heat cycled very many times) the better - that's the Thermobob. Read and consider; Information, Articles

4th; One of the best things about owning a KLR is the community and the resources available; whatever question you may have, someone has already asked it! There are some great people here so don't be shy.

Cheers,
Dave
