Please allow me to introduce myself......finally. Joined just after I got my '06 about 2 yrs ago. Have always admired KLRs. I like the simplicity of them as well as the long production run w/ little or no changes, like my XS 650 and C-10. Anyway this one sort of fell in my lap. I wasn't looking for one, needing another bike like I need a hole in my head, but I couldn't turn it down. In my 50+ yrs of riding, I've only owned 2 new bikes, '73? CR250 and an '83 R80RT, both long gone. Tired of buying beaters and bringing them back to life. My '06 KLR is as close to new as I'll ever find, 2500 miles and almost as clean as a pin. Gone are the days of racking up the miles. Just don't seem to have the time, but that's OK. These days I'm content with short rides out in the country. And she's ready when I am.
