New Gen 1 rider in NC

Just wanted to say "Hi"! I picked up a 2007 KLR 650 last month. The boss decided she wanted to try adv riding so I had narrowed my choice to a KLR or a V-Strom 650 to go with her Versys-X 300. I went with the V in case she didn't like the dirt. I still couldn't get KLR off the brain, so when she decided she liked off-roading I had to get a KLR.

Merry Christmas and welcome to the Forum. Gen 1ís are the best KLRís. If you have the black 2007 itís my favourite colour combo.

That was my favorite too, but I found a great deal on a red and silver so that's what I got!

Congrats and welcome.

Keep an eye on the Southeast Section of the forum for the 2019 NC-TN Rally Calendar. You may want to join some of their rides.

Also, if you can get over to IronHorseLodge, they sell some really good regional trail maps in both NC and TN.

Enjoy!

I'm in central NC but go to the mountains every chance we get. Usually get to Little Switzerland/ Linville Falls at least once a month during riding weather.
