Howdy from Cali

Hi All!

New guy here, Only been riding for about 2 years now and I have no idea why I didn't jump on a bike before now....

So I bought this KLR650 from some guy named Cabrito? Geez, did I get burned....

OK, I kid, SERIOUSLY tho, this bike has brought me nothing but pure joy. Cabrito is the shit! And I know I got the best deal a guy could get. Finally had my first adventure on it (more on that in a different post).

I look forward to exploring the forum and checking out all the KLR goodness here.

Peace!

Was that the long loop he just posted?
Welcome aboard Joe, you will enjoy that bike more and more every year. I need to get down there and do a loop like that. Looks like a great time.

Thanks!! It was! It was an incredible weekend. Almost 500 miles I think. Weather showed it's love, great camping. I am very much looking forward to going back with more time to explore.

Welcome to the forum, karnivor.

I'll again suggest that you might consider 4 simple, cheap & easy modifications which might help reduce the engines appetite for engine oil.

Check out mod #'s 7, 8, 9 & 10 from this thread.

Here’s a question, is a KLR 650 considered an enduro? I’ve had mixed answers other places and figured I might as well go straight to the KLRforum for the correct answer.

Yea, I wouldn’t classify as just an enduro. It’s definitely a Swiss Army knife

All depends on how old and how involved the person you ask has been with bikes for the past 50 years!

In the 60's & 70's they would have been referred to as 'Enduros'.
In the 80's & 90's they were more commonly called 'Dual-Purpose'.
Nowadays most people will tend to call them 'Adventure Bikes'.

And all three terms are perfectly fine for me.
As my '87 has 'Endured' a lot in its 'Dual' role of dirt & asphalt 'Adventures'.
