Big Pine Actually, 30 miles away, but nobody really has heard about it. Been riding since I was a kid, had a lot of bikes, but just now got around to my hand at a cheaper "adventure bike". I love it. What I would like to find is a ride down in Florida, swamp, street, dirt, the whole deal. I don't get to take the bike out of the keys much so would like more options for when I do. Any suggestions for any of you southern riders? Thanks for your consideration!
This weekend is the two-day Trans-Florida Rally. Starts in Palatka Saturday morning, over to Yankeetown and then back to Palatka Sunday. See details on Adventure Rider. The track they have has about anything you might expect in Florida pretty much covered.
I’m just up the road from you, and I also keep an eye out for FL rides.
See this? The SEAT: Southeast Adventure Trail
This route makes a big loop in the southeastern US.
It is targeted at Adventure / Dual Sport bikes with optional sections that are harder.
It is on the scale of the Trans America Trail. Ride at your own risk.
As far as I know all roads are legal Public roads - Forest Service, county, state, etc. Off pavement as much as possible.
