Doohickey arrived, I have everything to do it. I have watched Tom’s Superdoo videos about a half a dozen times. I am hoping to get to do this on Sunday.

Been a KLR rider since I had an A9 and now still have A16 w/ 11k miles. Have ridden off road a fair amount and lots of gravel. The KLR will not do anything better than any other motorcycle, but it probably does everything better than any other motorcycle. I too am considering going to a 16t front sprocket vs the stock 15t. lower highway rpm might be nice. tk in Chaska mn

welcome to KLR brethren. KLR650 is not better than any other motorcycle at anything. It may absolutely be better than any other motorcycle at everything. I too looking at 16t sprockets vs stock 15t.

Thanks for the welcome. The 16tooth definitely made a difference for my bike. As did the eagle mike fork brace. Just did the doohickey yesterday, original spring was broken and the chain was very loose. I didn’t know how bad my bike sounded until it sounded good lol. So far I have replaced front and rear pads, throttle cables, clutch cable, plug, air filter, reverted to stock muffler, replaced the subframe bolts with the eagle mike kit, did the doo, new hand grips, adjusted the steering head bearings and changed the oil. I added new mirrors, a phone mount, USB charger and I have dirtracks pannier racks coming as well as a new windshield. I think that will be all for this season other than another oil change. Next year I will
Do suspension upgrade, maybe buy new plastics and have the tank painted, most likely invest in a seat concepts seat and brake line upgrade.
