Another Az newbie

Newbie here, I have decided that after riding a cruiser that I am more of a dual sport guy. I had my money down on a KLR650 then switched to the cruiser at the last minute (kicking my self now). Any way looking for thoughts on the best years since I will now be buying used. I ran across an interesting 03 but are the newer models that much more improved or not? best of the last three years? Living in Az they probably get more street riding than trail but I want the options that a cruiser doesn't give you. Scott

Do some thread searches here and you'll find answers to your questions and then you have to make up your own mind.

Myself I would avoid a new model because of oil usage issues particularly in the 2008. I would look for a 2007 - 2001 model with low mileage and some goodies on it.

Everything you need informationally is here.
Everywhere fun to ride is out there ahead of the front wheel.
(When the wife asks, "Where ya going?", I say "Just following
the front wheel" alot.)

This is my son, with whom I am well pleased." ----God

Welcome Scott.

"Living in Az they probably get more street riding than trail"

You live in a different part of AZ than I do Here, there's much more unpaved than paved roads and hundreds, maybe thousands of miles of trails.

My '91 road bike has 24k and my '03 DS has 64K.
