anybody who thinks the president has any real power is a fool, he can only suggest things to congress, who unfortunatley continue to be re-elected year after year which is truly why we are in this situation. george bush jr. made it easy for everyone to lie cheat and steal which is exactly why we are where we are today. anyone who says any different has thier head up thier....hats

There isn't one politician that's worth the corn in your shit. Face it, we're screwed no matter who is in office.

Without getting too political, I agree this great country is on a downward slide. I believe this has happened for a zillion reasons. How quickly this slide happens depends on wether or not some pols. Have the courage and leadership to stop spending $$ on things that are stupid and on folks who SHOULD get off the government teet. I believe in smaller government and the constitution. I can not just throw in the towel..cause I have grandkids that I care about. Remember, you manage things..you LEAD people. A good Leader is needed IMHO.

Good Evening Masterlink,

You have put this in a very eloquent manner. If we just give up the slide will be inevitable and quick. If we take responsibility and action we can make a difference. It is more important than ever that the American public votes for the right people and that the right people begin to buck the system and do the right thing. Recovery will hurt, but it can be endured. This country can be great once again.

Dude, seriously? You still stuck on that George Bush is Satan BS?

In the first place, it's just not right to blame a retard for what he says or how he behaves. Retards can't help it. We have an autistic grandson. He has a good heart and does his best, we love him, and he has made wonderful progress. Still, he is twelve, can't wipe his ass, and pees his bed. That's the way he is. It's not his fault. Leave off bashing retards, will ya?

In the second place, what did GWB have to do with Hayes, Harding, or more recently Johnson and Clinton? He didn't invent bad government. Government is not some benevolent arrangement to benefit you. Government is a scheme whereby the rich and powerful enhance their wealth and power. Always has been; always will be. The problem comes when too many easily duped suckers are ready to entrust goverment with everything from job creation to relieving the poor to health care to deciding what you should or should not smoke to... you name it. Power corrupts. Handing them more power invites more corruption. It's that simple. You cannot have good government. you can only have less government. Let me repeat that as it is the crux of the whole issue: You cannot have good government. you can only have less government. Good intentions do not bring good results. That's wishful thinking. You cannot have good government. you can only have less government.

In the third place, once we get over the race card, it's plain as tits that Obama will go down as the worst president ever. Obamanomics is a spectacular flop. The stimulus did not stimulate. Obamacare will complete the fiasco. He will leave our great grandchildren in perpetual debt slavery. We're still in Gitmo. We're still all over Ragheadistan, and they're tuning us up for Iran. His cabinet is packed with ex vice presidents of Goldman Sucks. We have handed out one fat check after another to failed bankers and stock swindlers with no trickle down. Every other day he spouts a new preposterous whopper of a lie. And to top it off, he's a rabid fascist. These are his accomplishments and GWB hadf nothing to do with them.

Take a look at the week of March 16th this year: It started out with Obama's Attorney General telling us why due process does not imply judicial process and therefore the administration was in its rights to send drones to blow up American citizens or incarcerate them incommunicado indefinetely without trial and without charges. It ended with Obama issuing an executive order arrogating to himself the power to declare martial law in time of peace for no better reason than the threat of emergency (when is there not a threat of emergency?) This is the man who promised change and delivers chains.

Give up the lame Bush excuse. He's gone. We have a new tyrant now. One who can't claim the retardation excuse. One who IS clever enough to know what he's doing. And he's doing it.

Bend over and smile.

BOHICA

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and humorless preachers thundering doom. The name of the Deity is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.

I'm starting to pay more attention to the old guy at work who keeps saying, "One of these days pretty soon there's gonna be a line drawn and you're gonna have to decide what side of it you're gonna be on."
