(San Antonio) – Police responded to the scene of an overnight assault in the parking lot of a popular nightclub on the city’s Northwest Side. The victim, Raul G. Zarzamora, a 38-year old resident of San Antonio and a well known podiatrist, was badly beaten by a gang of other bikers and was transported to Methodist Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Witnesses reported that Mr. Zarzamora was sitting on a motorcycle, identified as a Harley-Davidson, and revving his engine repeatedly. Asked several times by the management of the club to cease, the victim responded by wildly revving his engine some more and screaming over and over “Loud pipes save lives!” It was at this point that witnesses say several other motorcycles then appeared seemingly out of nowhere and surrounded the victim and demanded he stop.

When the victim laughed and refused, witnesses say the riders got off of their bikes and proceeded to beat him with what were apparently plastic milk crates. “It was crazy” reported one eyewitness. “This guy dressed up all like a pirate was making all this noise and stuff and we were all like, enough already! The manager told him to stop, but he just flipped the guy off and like, started revving his engine really hard and screaming! Then this bunch of little bikes that had been around the back by the dumpster suddenly pulled up and the next thing we knew they were beating the guy with milk crates from the backs of their bikes! There was plastic and those bungee cord things flying everywhere!”

Police investigators have been unable to identify the assailants, but Officer Schmedlap of the Crime Scene Evidence Unit stated that they had some good leads, having found evidence of shattered milk crates, plastic pipe, and shredded duct tape scattered around the area. “We believe the gang in question was busy going through the contents of the dumpster behind the club at the time and were drawn to the scene by the loud pipes. We also believe the gang, based on eyewitness accounts of their clothing and general appearance and behavior could possibly be made up of homeless individuals.”

Witnesses say that after beating the victim unconscious, the unidentified riders then went through his pockets for loose change, siphoned the gas from his bike and took the valve stem caps from the wheels. Another rider spray painted the letters “KLR” across the victim’s posterior just before they all rode off into the night.

“It was really weird" said another witness that refused to be identified, "the whole time these guys were talking about pay-back for KLR bashing and giggling like crazy! I don’t know, maybe “KLR” is some sort of cult or something?”__________________
