Clauses

I suppose that you already know that Santa's elves are subordinate-clauses?

How about the difference between a cat & a comma?

One has claws at the ends of its paws, while the other is a pause at the end of a clause.

Then there was the guy who had a truck run over his abdomen. His life was punctuated by a semi-colon. (Just did that off the cuff so needs work)

After a long day on the golf course, I stopped in at ‘Hooters’ to see some Friends and have some hot food and a drink ...
After being there for a while, one of my friends asked me which waitress I would like to be stuck in an elevator with.
I told him “ The one who knows how to fix elevators."
I'm old, tired, and pee a lot ...
