Home made trail jack stand/forward foot rest

The weather here has sucked and my business is really slow - SO i've been drinking beer and making stuff for this season.

1st up is a neat trail jack stand that can also be used for forward foot mounts. I saw a concept of the idea on Adventure Rider. I picked up an aluminum set of crutches at Goodwill for $5.00 and carefully ground off the rivets. You use both bottom leg pieces and one of the drilled tubes to make it extend. If you have an aluminum skid plate - this can be hose clamped to the top holes and then use it as forward foot rests.

I have not mounted it yet - still playing with idea's and drinking more beer!!!

Came out nice and it works really well. Here are a few pictures:

More to come - I've built several alcohol stoves and picked up a new rear dry type ammo box.

Come on SPRING!!!!!!!!!

Garage
Doc-

Really neat homebrew stuff you've put up.

We ought to start a sticky in Gadgets and Gizmos for home brew penny tech things.

Thanks!

Tom

Thanks Tom - I'm cheap and I think like McGyver!!

You guys pardon my messy garage - it to is a work in progress. I built what I could afford and paid cash for it. Now I got to save some more to finish it.

It is a 30 x 30 pole barn with a metal insulated roof. I currently have heavy duty tarps for walls - it is heated though - love the wood stove.

That is cool! I'm gonna have to build me one of those. Are those spring loaded push buttons or screws?

Spring loaded push buttons - easy to extend or retract.
