A good day in the garage

Today I finished mounting Pelican cases, changed front fork springs & oil, drilled the frame for 10mm bolt, installed w'proof 12 volt receptacle,
did the "T" mod.

It's almost ready for Mexico......

Could you post a pic of how you mounted the Pelican cases?

Sure I'll take some pictures, but in the mean time....

I used Happy Trails SU Racks. I made a channel about 3" long & mounted it to the case so it would slide over the lower bar of the HT rack. I made two more 1" wide channels that slide over the top bar of the HT rack. The lower channel is fastened permanently to the case, with 3, 1/4 X 20 button head screws from inside. The two 1" pieces are slid over the top bar then secured using 1/4 X 20 bolts with 1 1/4" knobs. Just a couple turns of the knobs allows the 1"channels to rotate, then the cases can be lifted off.

Looks like you're getting it set up very nicely!!

And can you show a shot of the Russell seat? Just want to see how much different it is than mine.

The 12v is hot all the time. I'll use it to charge my phone. The GPS's are wired separately & are also hot all the time. Everything is fused appropriately.

I mounted the receptacle (horizontally) on the black plastic just behind the headlight. I'll get a pic.
