Double-take mirrors

screaminsal (watch his video's) uses the Doubletake mirrors. How many others are using them and what is your opinion for road and off-road use?

I like the concept though have slight concern of road vibration.

Ram stuff is top quality but why change out the stockers? They work good for me for road riding. On my trail riding dual sports I use MSR's. Light and cheap. I'll see if I can find a pic of how I mounted them.

Double-takers can be...
... quickly be folded out of harms way
... will move if your KLR decides to take a nap, if you hit a branch, etc.

I want to know how they...
- handle vibration while on-road
- how well you can see traffic behind the KLR

Guessing they will be a noiser mirror since the shaft is doubled

Besides tomatocity's response, the DoubleTake mirror should NOT grenade your left-side handlebar switch gear from mirror stem collateral damage, in the unlikely event of a fall.

Oh, can an OEM mirror stem destroy your handlebar switch gear in a fall?

Yes.

(Do not aske me how I know this!)

Besides folding mirrors, another countermeasure to this particular carnage is a mirror/choke lever relocation perch (pre-'08's, anyway).

I'm looking for a stock Left mirror if anyone has one they'd sell. My stocker has some weird markings in it.

[QUOTE=tomatocity;82390I like the concept though have slight concern of road vibration.[/QUOTE]Doubt the vibration exceeds that experienced with OEM mirrors; anyhow . . . DAMPERS could be used with this system, I imagine; screw damper into mirror socket, Ram ball into damper . . .

I have Ken Sean folding dual-sport mirrors on my KLR250; I imagine their vibration quotient is about par with the Double-Takes; Ken Sean's are about the same, as stock, anyway, vibration-wise.
