Just wondering, if a dealer sponsors a racer, and he needs a part for his bike that the dealer doesn't have in stock, does that guy have to wait 5-7 days to get his part, like the rest of us "Valued Customers"?

Yes,

The Racer is no better then the rest of us, and is only a rolling billboard for the Dealer. It's the dealers discretion to supply parts to the racer. If the racer does not like it, he can make a choice.

Here's another thought, the Racer may not be up to snuff and perhaps the Dealer is trying to get rid of him.

I had a full paid deal racing for FOX racing apparel for years and I traveled the country with all expenses paid for……. I needed to pay for EVERYTHING up front, and I needed to keep a detailed expense report with receipts. This was sent in monthly and I was reimbursed when I got my check the next month. If it was not for my DAD & MOM helping me out when I needed the cash, I would have been out..

In regards to parts.. You are even worse off than the average consumer.. most times the rider (At least I did) have a partial sponsor by the bike manufacturers.. I was Kawasaki .. Then switched to Honda.
(1) First off when you need a part, They are not making any money off of you. so if there are paying orders that need to get shipped – Guess who go’s to the back of the line and waits…. The Racer.. This is why you will see haulers loaded with tons of spear parts and extra bikes…
(2) Most of the time the parts that are on your race-day bike are special parts coming out of the R.A.C.E division of the factory, so there is generally a lead time… and to make this lead time worse, the engineers want you to send the broken part in then they will send you the new one…. (this is our own fault because we would drag our feet sending the old one back…. And sometimes never did send it back)
