Moto Shop Do it yourself shop

There's a new place in South San Francisco that's pretty cool.
http://www.bayareamotoshop.com/

It's a shop where you work on your own bike. They have lifts, tools, tire changing machine, parts washer, ect..

I dropped by when I heard about them because they're just a few miles from my work.

It's a pretty cool idea. You pay by the hour, day, or longer. It's a great place to work on your bike if you don't have a garage or if you're like me and your garage is dark and packed full of cars and crap.

They dispose of your oil after oil change. It's like a full shop, but you do the work.

They also have classes in tire changing, electronic accessories, valve adjust, ect.

I went to their tire changer class last night.

I hope it works for them.

I'm thinking KLR Tech Day over there sometime.

That's a great idea. I'm sure it's a big help for those who don't have a good place to work on their rides. I hope it succeeds.

There was a shop like this in Austin Tx. maybe 20- 25 years ago. Stalls by the day and tools by the hour.. Never made it there but a great idea today. Like a continious Tech Day.

Damn good idea.

They have some bicycle co-ops like that too.

My brother and I talked about starting a motorcycle co-op but the liability and cost/profit model didn't seem to fit.

I wish there was a place like that for motos here in Salt Lake. We have a place called "Wrench-It-Center" for cars that is similar.
