KLR Comments

Only had my KLR a week and I'm already getting comments about it. I was gassing up and a woman came over to ask about the bike, she knew her stuff too - she asked about the suspension, power curve, etc.

Apparently she and her husband are looking for a bike she can ride on the street and he can take in the dirt.

I actually bought my KLR from a lady. There are probably more female bikers than most of us realize.

I bought my (now sold) Yamaha FZ6, set up for touring, from a lady north of Milwaukee, WI.. I know a lot of lady riders, and a few of them are of the crazy type.. I've known Rebecca Vaughn for several years, and she's ridden the Iron Butt Rally twice now...

You know the tall girl too. I think we know a few folks in common. BTW, bought at 86 BMW R80RT -- cheap. Putting it back together.

Yeah, I remember the first time I saw her (young attractive TALL woman on a BMW) She and Brian Manke rode over to the WI Guzzi Rally to see what it was all about and to pass out info on the WI BMW club's rally..

Then we'd see each other at various BMW events or whatnot, and she also rode the Bonzia 12 hour road rally which got her pretty set on riding the IBR.

Now, other than occasional ADV gatherings, she's not out as much.. But being smitten will do that. And I don't think he rides, or at least not like she did.

And Congrats on the RT!!! Looking forward to photos!!! Other than a stock seat, I don't have much for parts for a monoshock airhead..
