Street tracker KLR 650 idea.....
I was a KLR Owner but sold it last year. Its like my ghost of christmas past it still haunts me I'll hear one pass and think is that her but no it's never is.
What i liked about the KLR.
1. the riders stance.(all my other bikes had been crockets)
2. that good old thumpers reliability and sound.
3. big gas tank.
What I did not like about the bike.
1. I am a short man and NC is known for stop lights on hills with side grades. the bike was to tall for me. Even lowered it was tall for my short legs and felt off the ride was changed.
2 the fork always looked small for the bike.
My dream solution take the engine from a fallen KLR and give it new life in a street tracker or scrambler styled frame, with dual springs in the rear, thicker fork, seat lower, engine still with good clearance, that good old thumper, wide bars and scrambler styled exhaust.
has this been done? am I just crazy? Can it be done?
