exporting and shipping my motorcycle
I am planning to move to the Philippines in the near future.Does anyone have any idea what the duty might cost and I have heard that you could diss-assemble the motorcycle re-assemble it there and avoid any duty because you brought it in as parts.I couldn't imagine having to do without it as they don't sell Kawasaki's there.Any information would be greatly appreciated.

No experience with the Phillipines, but a good friend just shipped his GS 850 back to the fatherland. I can't imagine any savings shipping the whole bike (as parts) and saving any money but it's possible. Shipping is pretty pricy (think just south of a grand). Of course anything beats riding the 25-50cc Moped typical of the region.

Thanks for the reply but shipping is not the problem, the problem is the import duties that the Philippines charge.I was hoping someone knew of someone else who maybe shipped one over there and you are right freight and port charges are about a grand. Thanks
