Michelin T63 Tires

I slapped a set on before last weekend's ride, so I figured I'd do a photographic journey of them..

New front and rear

After 1000 miles

The first 1000 was a hard weekend ride of about 700 miles of curvy roads and 300 miles of offroad/sand/gravel mix.. First 300 were at street pressures (36-39) and the rest was at off road pressure of 21 f/r.

Is it just me or do those look trashed after only 1000?

I have a set ready to spoon on when I get to the Divide start point in Montana. Hoping they'll last the 2800 miles to the Mexican border! Can't beat the price.

I hear the words Mexican border and it just pops into my head...

The tires should go the 2800 miles, but I think the next time I'll go with the old standby of Dunlop 606's.. My riding buddy had a set on his DRZ and his tires look about as worn as my Michelins, and he had put 800 miles of hard riding in Mexico at Copper canyon on them before this trip..

Wow! Haven't heard that in a while! What a flashback to a totally different time in my life.

I really hope the "Shot a man on the Mexican border" part of the song doesn't happen! Talked to a customer that lives in NM and he cautioned me about the border area. I'm not real concerned but will be aware of my surroundings.

The tires should do fine. I'm not a real aggressive rider, especially with a full load on the mule. Just have to air up and down when necessary.

Hey Cabrito, what pressures do you run for dirt/road?

Off-pavement I've run between 24-25psi up to 28psi

On road it depends on the load I'm carrying. Usually between 32-36psi
