Did my first long ride this weekend

Rode my bike from Ft Worth Tx to Westcliffe Co for a total of 700 miles. It was 110 degrees around Lamar Co. I am keeping the bike in Colorado now so I can do weekend trail rides.

Westcliffe...I love that place. I have not been there for over 10 years, but that area is so nice. I think it is right next to silvercliffe. That is some great riding and fishing

That second picture makes me want to quit my job, sell my junk, and become a motorcycling nomad.

I am lucky I get to go there every month. The following weekend I rode it to Hermit lake in Westcliffe and the trout were jumping right out of the water.

Wife and I stayed in an awesome mountain home in Silver Cliff about 10 years ago. Had some great pizza at a joint in Westcliffe. Don't remember the name but it was on the left heading into WC from SC.

R's is the pizza place you are thinking of. The big white dome bar before that actually makes better pizza. They have one with green chili in the dough that I get every time I'm in town.

I'm on the three day weekend every weekend nomad plan. I just load up the klr with all my camping gear and fly rod and head for the mountains. Just got the bike and am really enjoying the freedom to just go. Fish new rivers, ride roads you would never take, see things you would never see.
