Question Someone Gave me a great idea

One of the guys in the club i ride with gave me an idea for a custom paint job on my New 2012 KLR 650.....If you look at the front fender, the way it is bent, it looks like a beak of a bird. The head lights look like eyes. So now I have the idea of painting the front of my bike with the head of a bald eagle. Have my headlights the eyes of the eagle and the fender the beak. What do you think?

If you do it right, it will look awesome. If it's done wrong, it will look awful.

Do it right.

I would take multiple pictures and use something like GIMP (opensource photo editing) or Photoshop and touch up there before I touch the bike....It took Kawi 25 years to get the colour right and it would be a shame to change it without some design shots first....Just IMHO....

Yeah, I agree. I could never pull it off.

What would you use to paint on the plastics that will not peel off?

You might think about vinyl wrap.
I seen a bike done in USA flag team (tank blue with stars the rest with red white strips)
That looked nice.
There must be a place that will do the design and then print and install the vinyl.
I'm going to google and youtube to take a look.....

The paint peeling was my concern also. I have a couple people looking around for a place that might be able to do it. Thanks for the comments

Let me throw in my two cents....Paint it...own it! I dislike the colors choices we have. I have been looking for a wrap myself

Just about two weeks ago I was using GIMP to give me ideas of what to do with my front fender.

I have bed liner and want to paint parts of it so it kinda looks like what you'd expect from BMW....but I was having a difficult time envisioning the different combinations in my head together (truth be told, I never look at my front fender, and forgot where all the folds are).

To give you an idea, this is what I was doing:

Here is the original (note, not my bike):

And here are some of the proposed ideas:

There were other combinations too, but I won't bore you with the details (unless you want to see them).

I thought they'd end up looking way cooler than they did. I was kind of disappointed in the results, but happy I didn't ruin my fender to figure that out.

Bed liner would be more of a matte look than the shinyness there fwiw.

I ended up tieing a cargo net over it (mine fits almost perfectly) and I just bought a fender bag. I think it looks okay.

If you post some pictures up (ideally high resolution...as high as your camera goes), I might be able to help you out in a similar fashion as above.
