2013 klr ?

Just got an e-mail notice for 2013 KLR's.

Followed link and saw this under "Engine"

Quote: Cam timing and tuning combination aid in producing a broad, user-friendly powerband
Smooth bends on the one-piece exhaust pipe permit exhaust efficiency at all rpm
Light, silent cam chain contributes to a quieter engine
Double engine balancer helps engine run smoothly from idle to redline for less fatigue on long rides
Advanced piston ring design helps minimize oil consumption
Oil-level window permits easy and accurate inspection

Is any of this an improvement over 2012 models??

Ageing Gracefully

2017 Yamaha XT250
1990 Honda NX250 (Green/White)

Sounds the same

The only thing new is the date, 2013 model year.
Basically the same bike with the same "improvements?"

No.

In fact, this identical line announced the notoriously oil-hungry 2008 models:

Further, Kawasaki insists the rear brake calipers are single-piston, when we know they are double-piston. How accurate are the rest of the specifications published?

Probably some marketing person who reused the specifications from last year.

As long as they didn't get rid of the 6th gear like the xt225 to xt250.

Hey they change it every 20 years or so! Improve it? That's debateable.
