Mine runs just fine on regular but I do get better fuel mileage with hi test.

Thanks wildhare. What about that Lucas fuel injection cleaner stuff once in a while? My scooter loved that every so often.

Never used it in mine but I don't see what it would hurt.

Hi abq,

The klr has a carburator instead of a fuel injector. I'm not sure if fuel additive carb cleaner is the same as fuel additive injector cleaner. I think most scooters use fuel injectors fwiw.

I run regular gas. I've never heard of high test gas, is it the same as "premium" gas? If so, I believe that is designed for high compression motors to prevent predetonation. My understanding is that it doesn't offer a performance in a standard motor.

My 08 ran terrible on high test "premium" gas. It actually had less power an was all and all not good. Drained it down and filled on cheap regular and it was back to it old snappy ish ways

No, you dont have a compression ratio high enough to require high test (premium). Just put regular in, then tip the gas attendant the difference if you really want to spend the money for premium, you wont notice a difference and the attendant will be able to feed his crack habit.

Thanks for the info.... I had been used mid-grade gas just in case either scenario was
right = regular or premium. So now I can use regular with piece of mind.
