What does this look like?

Yesterday I found my rear tire flat. It had been good 4 day’s ago.
After removing it and inspecting both the tire and tube, this is what I found.

No damage to tire inside or out, just this on outside of tube.
Does it look like a tube defect? Bike only has 2,300 miles on it.

Sadly, might have been a tire-iron intrusion, as the tire was spooned onto the rim . . .

PLEASE do not ask me why I suggest such a damage mechanism . . .

Good point, Paper; looks suspiciously like a PATCH, no? Somehow assumed the image showed a new tube, but with a mysterious penetration . . .

No I marked the hole with a marker to show it.

I've never seen this type of hole before. It's like the surface of tube seperated from the underlying part of tube. The hole dosen't go through.
The tube does hold air for a while. ( Slow leak )

Being that there is what appears to be a slice by the hole I second the tire iron, fixing a tire iron (aka table spoon) my son used on his 12 speed as I type this.
