Hey guys, don't do this:

After I cleaned my air filter, I was impatient to go ride. So I had this bright idea to dry the foam element with my wife's hair dryer. Boy was I surprised to find out how HOT a hair dryer can get! I also discovered how BAD a burning air filter sponge can smell!

LOL...can't help but laugh at myself!

Sounds like a good excuse for a K&N filter kit!

Thanks for the tip. Note to self: don't use the blow-drier on the filter...

I like to have two filters. One is clean and ready to swap into place when the old one get taken out and cleaned.

I DO use a hair dryer, but you gotta hit that trigger that makes the air cool.

I hate waiting too, that's why I bought spares. Usually have two sitting in ziplocks all oiled up and ready to go. Good thing I have no wife or hair dryer, because I can see myself giving that a shot.

Thanks for the tip. I had looked at the heat gun.... glad I decided against it.
But now I have rotator cuff problems from trying to shake the water out. : )

I put my filter in an old towel and squeeze the water out. The towel absorbs the water. This works for removing the excess oil as well. Now you're riding in no time!!

Don't get the K&N. I've read it flows worse than stock.

Typically K&N's flow better than anything, but they also filter worse than anything too.
