Oil pump and system mods...???

Hi guys....I have just dismantled a spare engine to learn the tranny and how to put it back together before taking my tranny apart to check her out.
While doing so I had the pleasure of taking the oil pump apart and looking at it and how it develops pressure. I have modified this type of pump in a Jeep but wanted to know if anyone here has thought about the whole oil pressure system so to speak. I am wondering IF it is feasable to increase the pressure and what advantage it would have in our engines. We used to mill the surfaces down slightly and true them using a decking block and 1000 grit wet sand paper, it increased the oil pressure from the stock pressure. But, this was in old Jeeps, 1950 etc vintage.

What does anyone think about doing this to our oil pumps etc????
Will it work or does this pump work differently than the peanut shaped pump I'm used to?

Thoughts???

I figure if we could increase the pressure maybe we could help the bearings get better lubrication....?

I can't believe that I had missed seeing this OLD post, forever. Sorry Willys. Or maybe I did and I don't remember?

Hopefully anyone that has found it, has also found my and Tom Schmitz's (Actually, I guess that 'Motosapien' started the '09 Oil Pressure Experiments') threads.
Starting with this one, https://www.klrforum.com/1987-2007-w...ch-ya-got.html

And finishing with Toms excellent Souperdoo article, https://www.souperdoo.com/stuff%20th...ht-oil-burning
