Carb cleaning & maintenance
When a clogged carb arrives on the place we have set up a home made soda blaster using one of those "solvent guns" on the compressed air line with it's solvent tube stuck in baking soda in a coffee can. It won't hurt pot metal. Shines carb parts up like new.
Then we use the other old school method of boiling the parts in clean hot water. Any soda left is gone.
Works way better than chemical cleaners stinkin up the shop and the various solvent elixers dumped in the gas tank.
Then we run ethanol free gas (Shell V-Power in this area) in all our "occasional use" engines - mower, trimmer, bikes, outboards, snowmobiles etc. with a smatter of stabilizer in the engines in "off season" storage
