Pricing for new 2012 KLR (Denver)...

A local dealer here in the Denver area has several 2012 models still in stock. He is asking $5799 (+109 doc fees) Is this a fair price as we head into winter/new model year?

Thanks,

Nate

Economy, dealership, location and a 3-year lapse be damned, I seriously paid $2,000 less for my new '09 KLR than the second price quoted here. I'll be honest: if I was going to spend 6 Grand on a motorcycle, it wouldn't be a KLR. No offense intended, but is that really what they're going for these days?

I suppose there are some advantages to living where nobody's interested in the things. When I bought mine, the dealer was pretty much saying, "Get that damned thing out of here." As noted, that was 3 years ago. I haven't priced them here since then but I don't think the MSRP has gone up all that much.

MSRP has gone up about $200/year over the last several years - mostly due to the declining value of the dollar on the world market. MSRP on a 2013 is $6,499 now.

Wow, I guess it has gone up. In 2009 it was $5599. I stand corrected.

Your price will probably end up being a couple hundred less than what I paid out-the-door... When I purchased my 2012 in September, it was the only 2012 around that I could find (and that was the preferred year for me), and his out-the-door price was $6,500 after all taxes, fees, licensing, etc.

The MSRP for a 2012 was $6,299...

With the interest rate I got, my payment ended up at about $121/month.

Yep. Around here all the dealers had 6,499$ on the tag, so I guess it just comes down to how bad they want to move them. But take a look around 6k is a deal for what all the KLR does.

I just bought a new 12 KLR for $5700. No fees. The dealer is an old friend and I have bought other bikes from him. Your price isn't bad. A new 2013 would have been $6500 out the door. I wanted a green 13 but green ain't worth $800. Buy it and have a ball.
