Is the season over yet.....????

I am so pumped to start my winter teardown and rebuild that I'm actually wanting the season to be over already!!!! WTF???? There are a few good days left to ride but the itch to tear into the bike again is driving me crazy!
On top of that I have just bought a CX500 to tear down to have some fun with. BUT, I do not want two bikes in bits at the same time. I also need to have space in the garage for customer's bikes if they show up at any time.
I need help....I have been reading the CX500 forums already and have seen pics of people with heads off and the internals displayed.....all I can think of is porting heads and boring pistons!!!! I haven't even bought the bike yet!!! What is wrong with me? Am I that damaged?

Now I need to spend some serious hours trying to jam as much into my outdoor shed to make some serious room in the garage for this to happen....HELP!!!!!!!

I made the mistake last year, based on the previous year's shitty Winter, of rolling the KLR into the basement and tearing into it rather early; early November, I believe. Weather was off and on throughout the Winter, but I missed out on a lot of good riding with the KLR up on blocks and torn apart in the basement. I don't really have any big plans for it this Winter besides lubing the swingarm bolt so I'm going to keep it in one piece and ready to go at all times in case we have a mild Winter or at least get a decent day here and there.

I think the season is toast in central Alberta, snowing right now and the weather forecast doesn't look promising... Such a short season in the great white north

What is this snow stuff you are talking about. I live in Southern California and winter means to change from shorts and a wife beater to long pants and a t-shirt.

Well, just installed the snows on the truck and started the winter hide everything that isn't snow related......bike is still at the ready though.

If it wasn't for the lack of summer in the Yukon I would move there in a heartbeat!!! If you haven't been....you really must before you die!

Ok that made me both laugh and better appreciate the rain in Oregon.

Be a man!!! I went riding today but admittedly it was on the Goldwing.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "

Lol! I had her out for a chicken run to the fort the other night... Had to try out the new gloves!

Hoping we get a little more mild weather yet, I don't wanna put it away so soon
