Gerbing Jacket Liner

I have an older (about 7 years) Gerbing Jacket Liner that my wife has used on our Goldwing. I am selling the Goldwing and wondering if my 2012 KLR charging system will handle the current drain of the jacket. I can't seem to find the paperwork on the jacket to see what the actual drain is. The jacket will fit me and I'll use it on the KLR if possible. Thanks in advance for your help and experience.

I have a Gerbing Jacket I bought about 2 - 3 years ago.
My paperwork lists the following for current draw.
Jacket--- 6.4 Amps
Pants--- 4 Amps
Gloves--- 2.2 Amps
Socks--- 2.2 Amps

Hope this helps. Remember, when you are calculating the drain, use 14 Volts because that's the max voltage when you're running at speed.

Volts X Amps = Watts

I have a 90W jacket and my 1st-gen runs the jacket just fine. I also run a few small loads (extra LEDs and GPS) but have made no watt-saving changes.

I'd expect your Generation 2 stator to do just fine, cmabob!

My Generation 1 stator wouldn't keep up with my Gerbing's jacket liner and gloves; installed Race Tech trick stator (280 watt), and . . . no problem, so far.

Installed heavy-duty rectifier/regulator also; maybe not necessary (the OEM part might do), but--the trick R/R is rated for the higher stator output.

If these aftermarket parts hold up, the serviceable used OEM stator and rectifier/regulator will be up for sale.
